| 38 | Julie Birchall (2006) I am looking at a copy of their marriage certificate as I type. The marriage date is 29th June 1942 (written in 3 separate places on the marriage certificate). What is your source for the date? The name given on the marriage certificate is Mattie Williams. The story I have been given is that she grew up thinking her name was Mattie and only found out that her real name was Martha when she was an adult (when she applied for her birth certificate). Mattie's mother died when she was a small child and no-one thought to tell her her real name. Everyone knows her as Mattie so I am sure that if you wish to refer to her as Mattie on the website no-one would mind in the least. Witnesses to the marriage were Charlie's brother and sister, Ernest Birchall and Alice Clayton. . | Family: F957

| 43 | Margaret Jones: Then I looked for a marriage between someone named Ravenscroft so that I could tie in the grandson to Martha on the 1851 census. Here's the news Sarah Bebbington 1816 married John Ravenscroft b 13/6/1817 Allostock at Sandbach St. Mary's in March 1840, he died and was buried in Bostock on 24/4/1843. Hence her child by him was one Edward James Ravenscroft born c 1844, he was the only Ravenscroft born in Sandbach between 40/45 and presumably she was only just pregnant when he died. | Family: F28

| 46 | Martin Cross 2009 My Lamplugh connections are Louisa Lamplugh, first wife of my great grandfather, John Moore, b. 1838. Louisa was born in Dringhoe (1840) - so every chance of a connection to Skipsea, and died in Bridlington in 1892. John and Louisa were also first cousins, so Louisa is a cousin of myself also. To make the matter more complex, Louisa's sister, Matilda, married Johns' brother Robert Moore. I am also in touch with a descendant of Louisa and Matilda's other sister, Jemima (who I have a photograph of). She married William Dixon and emigrated to Seward, Nebraska, USA, where her descendants still live. The parents of the three sisters were Richard Lamplugh, b. Dringhoe, 1812, died Weaverthorpe 1864, buried in Skipsea and Ulrome; and Martha Cattle, 1815-1856. | Family: F2698
